Do I need an account?
Not to start. Open the app and begin. After a couple of lessons Flas offers to save your progress with Google, Apple or an email — your streak, XP and lessons stay exactly as they were.
Do I need to be Albanian to use it?
No. Flas starts from zero — first words, then phrases, then conversation. It suits complete beginners as much as people who understand more than they can say.
Which Albanian does it teach?
Standard Albanian, the one taught in schools in Albania and Kosovo, spoken by voices from Kosovo. One unit is devoted to Gheg — the Albanian most diaspora families actually hear at home — so a child recognises both.
Which phones does it work on?
Android on Google Play, and iPhone and iPad on the App Store. One account works on all of them.
Can I use it in English or French?
Yes. The interface is available in Albanian, English and French, and you choose on the very first screen. The language being taught does not change.
Does it work without internet?
Lessons and their audio work offline once downloaded. Your progress syncs the next time you are online.
Is the voice real?
Yes — every phrase is pre-recorded in two Albanian voices, Anila and Ilir, and shipped with the app. You pick the voice during setup and can change it in Settings.
How long is a lesson?
Five to seven exercises, two to four minutes. Pick a daily goal of 3, 10 or 20 minutes and the dashboard tells you when you have met it.
The speaking exercise does not recognise my child on iPhone.
Apple\u2019s speech recognition has no Albanian, so on iPhone the speaking exercise falls back to listen-and-repeat. On Android it scores the phrase. We are working on a proper Albanian recogniser.
How does a child sign in?
You add the child on your profile and create a six-character family code. On their device they tap "I\u2019m a child", type the code and your email, and they are in. No child email, no child password.
Is my child\u2019s data safe?
A child profile is a first name, an age group, a level and a goal — nothing else. No email, password, photo or location. Flas shows no ads and uses no advertising or analytics trackers. See the privacy policy.
Can I see how my child is doing?
Yes. Tap the child on your profile: streak, XP, level, this week\u2019s activity, lessons done and accuracy by unit, badges — and controls to change their level or goal.
What does it cost?
You can start free. Continued access is a family subscription: Familja at €6.99 a month or Shqiponja at €49.99 a year, covering every child on the account. Nothing renews automatically.
How do I pay?
Sign in on flas.io/subscribe with the same email you use in the app, choose a plan and pay securely with Paysera. Your plan activates on every device in the family.
How do I delete my account?
Profile → Delete account. Your profile, your children\u2019s profiles and all progress are removed permanently.
